Information and Publications

Accurate and accessible information is essential for anyone wishing to engage with the process of organic conversion, to improve an existing organic farming system or to find out more about the principles and techniques of organic production. The production, interpretation and dissemination of information have been key activity strands of the Organic Research Centre since 1980. The Organic Farm Management Handbook and the ORC Bulletin are the most visible manifestations of our ongoing commitment to information provision. In addition there is a wealth of information in our publication list and on the Organic Inform website that has been accumulated over 30 years or more much of which is still relevant and applicable today. Our research teams are constantly generating new information in the form of results, reports and papers. The Information Services Team is responsible for the dissemination of knowledge and is working on improvements to these pages so that it is easier for visitors to the site to find what they are looking for. We are keen that farmers and growers can quickly gain access to information that could be of practical use. The needs of researchers and advisors are likely to be different. We will also be providing links to other websites and publications (with similar aims and objectives) that are potentially good sources of useful and relevant information. This is still a work in progress so visit again in the near future. If you have any information needs that we are not addressing please let us know on 01488 658297 or info@organicresearchcentre.com The information programme is co-ordinated by Prof. Nic Lampkin with support from Dr Bruce Pearce, Senior Programme Manager, and Information and publications areas
